With the growing division between the secular and sacred in our society, it is important, now more than ever, to raise our children with a solid biblical worldview of themselves and their community. Cascade Christian Schools educates students to discern between differing worldviews and perspectives, training them to pursue godly traits and strong morals, and to lead with a servant's heart…all while pursuing academic excellence. To fully cultivate these traits, all facets of the Christian community must work together.
This was the realization that formed the basis for Cascade Christian Schools, when, in the early 1990's, three church-related schools in Pierce County realized the commonality of their schools' missions and their shared desire to meet the needs of school-aged students. These people of vision unified their efforts to launch a new school system. In 1992, Cascade Christian Schools was incorporated as an independent, interdenominational school district with a board of directors and a pastors' council. Today, Cascade Christian Schools is a thriving school district serving over 1,500 students, child care and preschool through grade 12.
In a sustained, dedicated pursuit of God-given potential, the 500+ students at Cascade Christian Junior High and High School embark on a program designed to prepare and transition them from junior high (grades 7 & 8) and high school (grades 9-12) on to the college or university of their choice. Core foundational academics, integrated from a biblical worldview, focus on training in leadership, effective communication, and upper-level thinking ability. All students can expect to be surrounded by qualified Christian faculty, staff, and administrators who are committed to keeping the integration of faith and learning a priority.
The Junior High curriculum provides solid preparation for High School by offering a basic academic foundation that will lead to high school successes. The core subject areas of mathematics, science, history, language arts, and Bible are given special emphasis, and students are provided opportunities for leadership development.
Academics at the high school level are directed with a college preparatory emphasis. Advanced levels of English, history, mathematics, science and technology, foreign language, vocal and instrumental music, art, and drama prepare students with the skills necessary to excel at their choice of university. The faculty, staff, and administration are excited to help students press on toward their goals and ensure students the opportunity to respond to God's call regarding their academic future.
Concerts, retreats, recognition dinners, choir and band tours, and mission trips are all a part of student life. In conjunction with the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association, Cascade has a wide range of competitive athletic offerings: soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis, cross country, golf, and fast pitch for the girls; and soccer, cross country, basketball, golf, tennis, football, wrestling, and baseball for the boys at the varsity level, and track and field for boys and girls.
Cascade Christian Schools has a program specifically for international students, which includes English language studies that are designed to meet students at their level of English competency, and to integrate them into the social, cultural, and academic life at Cascade Christian Schools.
Cascade Christian Schools is open to anyone interested in securing a Christian education, who the school finds qualified for admission. The admissions procedure includes a testing and interview process. Students are evaluated on the basis of transcripts or report cards, references, admission questionnaires, interview responses, and the anticipated ability of Cascade Christian to meet the student's individual needs.
